I always wanted to try screen printing, but was a little bit cautious because of the cost. But I decided to invest in a screen printing kit and give it a go. Well I have tried it, and it feels like I have found what I have been looking for. I like to draw, but I HATE drawing things over and over again if I want to reproduce it larger. Can never get it right. But screen printing makes that process less of a chore and so much more fun. I was so taken by the process that I went and bought myself a laser printer so I can print the transparencies for the emulsion process myself. Here are some pics of my setup and my first ever screen; also what I created with that screen:

My first test print with the completed emulsion using The Blue Wren logo.

The only space available in the house for me to do this is the laundry. Currently the dishwasher is my desk.

To try and get good at the technique, I screen printed the small bird over and over again. Some are so crap. By the last three I understood how I needed to do it.
